Immaculata University Offers Accelerated BSN in 15 Months

COLLEGE GRADUATES CAN EARN ACCELERATED BSN DEGREE FROM IMMACULATA UNIVERSITY IN ONLY 15 MONTHS

Immaculata University announced that it will begin offering a second-degree Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) program. The ABSN is a full-time program designed for students and professionals, who already have a bachelor’s degree in another discipline, to earn a BSN degree in as few as 15 months. The degree consists of a minimum of 128 credits, of which 55 will be designated for nursing courses offered at the school; the remaining credits may consist of previous coursework completed through an earned bachelor’s degree. Graduates receive a BSN degree and are eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN ®).

The United States is projected to experience a shortage of registered nurses (RN) that is expected to intensify as the baby boomers age and the need for healthcare increases. Immaculata University is prepared to educate future nurses to meet the workforce need and demand. Students in the accelerated BSN program receive the benefits of an award-winning holistic nursing education program. Students can practice and hone their skills in the nursing simulation lab and they have access to a personal NCLEX success coach that prepares graduates for the nursing licensure exam.

“Nurses were ranked America’s most trusted profession for 17 consecutive years according to the 2018 Gallup’s poll. Many people are seeking to change their careers to become a nurse who makes a difference in the lives of others. I am happy that Immaculata is providing this wonderful ABSN program opportunity to help them to pursue this dream and make a positive difference in community and global health,” states Jane Tang, PhD, RN, NE-BC, chair and professor of the Division of Nursing.

Immaculata University’s ABSN program is currently accepting applications, and the first class will begin in January 2020. In addition, students who need prerequisite courses, can take them at Immaculata for the discounted rate of $250 per credit. In addition to the new second degree accelerated BSN program, Immaculata’s Division of Nursing offers pre-licensure BSN, RN to BSN, MSN and EdD in Higher Education with Nursing Education concentration degrees.
