President Lettiere

Meet President Lettiere

The Tenth President of Immaculata University

Barbara Lettiere assumed the office as the tenth president of Immaculata University on July 1, 2017, bringing with her a wealth of experience as a former vice president for finance at a liberal arts college and a nearly 30-year career in corporate America. In addition, Lettiere possesses a deep personal commitment to the University as an Immaculata alumna, a donor, and a seven-year member of the Immaculata Board of Trustees, serving recently as chair.

Lettiere is the first lay president of Immaculata. Most recently serving as vice president for finance and administration at Trinity Washington University, Lettiere spent most of her professional career at Bell Atlantic Corporation, holding various positions within the operations, marketing and finance sectors. Eventually, she was named vice president/treasurer at Bell Atlantic and then president of Bell Atlantic Federal Systems, where she helped secure the largest government contract ever awarded to Bell Atlantic.

After earning a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Immaculata, Lettiere earned a Master of Arts in economics and statistics from the University of Notre Dame and an MBA in decision sciences and finance from Rider University. She is a member of the National Association of College and University Business Officers.

“It is my belief that, as the first lay president, Barbara Lettiere will perpetuate Immaculata’s long IHM heritage of preparing students for the workforce and also will be a positive force for good. She will creatively and effectively lead the University in adapting to the new and evolving educational needs of our times,” stated Sister Lorraine McGrew, IHM, vice chair of the Immaculata Board of Trustees.
