Immaculata University Appoints Mindy L. Tait Chair of Division of Nursing

Mindy L. Tait, Ph.D., MBA, M.S.N., CRNP, FNP-BC, has joined Immaculata University as chair of the Division of Nursing. Tait is as an experienced nurse educator and academic leader with more than two decades of experience in clinical practice, undergraduate and graduate nursing education, and academic administration.

As chair of the Division of Nursing, Tait will provide leadership for the B.S.N., accelerated B.S.N., RN-to- B.S.N. and M.S.N. programs. Her responsibilities include supporting faculty development, curricular integrity, accreditation compliance and student outcomes, as well as strengthening partnerships with clinical agencies and community stakeholders.

Most recently, Tait served as associate dean and chief nurse administrator at La Salle University, where she provided strategic leadership for undergraduate and graduate nursing programs, overseeing program development and evaluation, faculty recruitment and mentoring, accreditation and regulatory compliance, and budget and resource management.

She previously served as director of assessment at Lakeview College of Nursing in Danville, Illinois, leading program evaluation initiatives, supporting NCLEX outcomes, coordinating accreditation and state board reporting, and guiding curricular improvement.

Her areas of expertise include curriculum and institutional assessment, Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education and state regulatory compliance, innovative teaching strategies, faculty mentoring and student success initiatives. Most recently, she served on the steering committee for the institutional self-study in preparation for the 2025 Middle States Commission on Higher Education visit at La Salle University. She has also participated in accreditation site visits for the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, the Council on Accreditation and the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.

Tait began her nursing career after earning her LPN from Danville Area Community College in 1993. She earned a B.S.N. from Lakeview College of Nursing in 1999, an M.S.N. with a family nurse practitioner specialization from Indiana State University in 2008, a Ph.D. in nursing education from Capella University, and an MBA from La Salle University. She is certified as a family nurse practitioner by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and holds active registered nurse and certified registered nurse practitioner licensure in Pennsylvania.

In 2023, Tait received the Christian R. and Mary F. Lindback Distinguished Teaching Award in recognition of her excellence in teaching and dedication to student learning. In 2025, she was selected by students and faculty for the Daisy Award for Extraordinary Nurse Educators.
