Immaculata University announces a new partnership with the Chester County Fraternal Order of Police (FOP), offering active and retired law enforcement officers from Chester County, as well as first responders, significant tuition discounts on both undergraduate and graduate programs. This initiative is effective immediately.
Members of the Chester County FOP receive a 25% tuition discount on Immaculata’s fully online Master of Science in Criminal Justice program as well as on the full standard tuition for master’s and select doctoral programs. For those pursuing a bachelor’s degree, a discounted rate of $405 per credit is available. Additionally, the University is waiving application fees for FOP members.
“The FOP is proud to partner with Immaculata University to offer our members a tremendous opportunity to further their education and become well-rounded leaders in the law enforcement community,” stated Bob McCarron, president of the Chester County Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #11.
Joseph Sorgini, DPA, assistant professor of criminology at Immaculata, spearheaded a curriculum update for the master’s in criminal justice to align with the evolving needs of law enforcement professionals. Recognizing the FOP’s emphasis on their officers’ mental and physical well-being and leadership development, Sorgini introduced four leadership courses into the program. Alongside these new offerings, key courses in ethics, criminal law and cybersecurity remain integral, addressing critical issues in the field. Graduates of the program will earn not only a master’s degree in criminal justice but also a certificate in strategic leadership.
This partnership reflects Immaculata University’s ongoing commitment to supporting law enforcement professionals through educational opportunities. “We want to have a connection between academia and practitioners so that they can use this degree to advance in their careers,” Sorgini noted. “By offering a tuition discount to law enforcement and first responders, we are telling them they are valued and important.”
In addition to the Chester County FOP partnership, the University continues to offer first responders in the City of Philadelphia these same undergraduate and graduate tuition discounts. Looking ahead, Sorgini hopes to broaden partnerships to FOP members in Bucks, Delaware and Montgomery counties, as well as other states including New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia and New York.
