Katherine Hernandez Receives 2018-19 Presser Undergraduate Scholar Award

Immaculata University Awards Hanover, Pa, Resident the 2018-19 Presser Undergraduate Scholar Award
Immaculata University is proud to announce that Hanover, PA, resident Katherine Hernandez ’19, is the recipient of the 2018-2019 Presser Undergraduate Scholar Award.
As a music therapy major with an applied music concentration in voice and a minor in Theology, Hernandez will be given a $4,000 award to be used at her discretion for enrichment and musical advancement. As an active student, Hernandez is president of the IU Dance Company, class representative for the Class of 2019, vice president and co-founder of Crown of Creation campus group, member of Macs for Life, and is a writing assistant for the Writing Center. In addition, she sings for Mass and is a member of the percussion ensemble and the IU choir.
“Chosen by our music faculty members on the basis of excellence and merit, Kathy Hernandez has shown she is very deserving of this special recognition,” said William Carr, DMA, Steinway Artist and chair of the Music department at Immaculata University.
The Presser Foundation was established in 1939 under the Deeds of Trust and Will of the late Theodore Presser. It is one of the few private foundations in the United States dedicated solely to music education and music philanthropy.
Immaculata University is a comprehensive, Catholic, coeducational institution of higher education, located on the Main Line between Malvern and Exton, 20 miles west of Philadelphia.
