The Immaculata University community congratulates Marianne, and the entire Washington Mystics organization, for winning the 2019 WNBA Championship.

Yaniv Aronson is mayor of Conshohocken, a film and video teacher, and a higher education doctoral student at IU. He wants to help everyone get where they want to go, smoothly and safely.

“I found my passion for students and am now pursuing a career to continue the work I started here,” explains Jared Viz ’19. Being a first-year experience mentor helped him to hone his leadership style, and even inspired a change in major to psychology.

Tanaya is undeniably a light for her students, and her time at Immaculata helped her to see her own leadership abilities.

On Monday, January 14, Immaculata alumna Mary Scharff ’77 passed away at the age of 64. Mary played on the 1974 Mighty Macs women’s national basketball championship team and was named a Kodak All-American her senior year. Mary continued coaching at the high school and collegiate levels, including 11 years as head coach at Immaculata.

When Stephen Brandt, now in IU’s K-12 educational leadership Ed.D. program, became principal at Roxborough High, it was on the state’s list of “persistently dangerous” schools. But Brandt and his team began to change the culture of the school.

Kathleen Solari ’06 has been selected as the 2019 recipient of the Excellence in Radiation Therapy Nursing Award presented by the Oncology Nursing Society.

On Sunday morning, July 22, Immaculata alumna Rene Muth Portland ’75 passed away. Rene played on all three Immaculata Mighty Macs women’s basketball championship teams and went on to a successful coaching career.
