Immaculata University’s Civic Engagement Department offers a variety of academic programs that connect the university’s ethical values with real-world applications in the fields of social work, criminology, sociology, emergency planning and management, cybersecurity, history, political science and international relations.
Your coursework will help you understand different historical periods, national and international issues, social behavior and society, diverse populations, and theories of liberty and justice with a strong focus on advocacy. You will strengthen your skills in analytical and critical thinking, effective communication, and ethical conduct. You will have the opportunity to complete a supervised internship or to conduct research, which will expose you to different aspects of your chosen field.
When you successfully complete your program, you will have a deeper understanding of the ways in which you can create change in your local and global community. You will be equipped to become an active citizen of the world, making informed responses to social issues.
