Allied Health, B.S. – MRI Technology

This is a clinical specialty concentration of the Allied Health program.

MRI technologists operate magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanners to create diagnostic images to assist in the diagnosis of a variety of conditions. MRI technologists are responsible for patient safety, appropriate positioning, administration of contrast agents, operation of equipment, and collaborating with radiologists to ensure that proper protocols are followed.

MRI technologists work in healthcare facilities, including hospitals and imaging centers.

Program Highlights

  • 3 years of academic coursework at Immaculata, including courses in the sciences and healthcare management and experience in the hospital, prepare students for the clinical program within MRI Technology.
  • Students spend 4 semesters at the clinical affiliate to obtain training in the equipment, procedures, and patient care protocols used to obtain MRI images.

Affiliate Schools & Admissions Requirements

  • AIMS Education College of Health Sciences
    • The courses in this program are all offered online.
    • Students apply to the clinical affiliate in Fall of their sophomore year.
