Move-in Day 2026
New Students
Move-in Day for new students is Thursday, August 27. Check in will be located in the Villa Maria Rotunda. Each student will be assigned a check-in time. All check in times are during the morning hours. Please plan to arrive promptly for your scheduled time. New Student Orientation (NSO) will begin immediately following move-in. New: Drop & Go Option
Drop & Go allows eligible students to experience a more leisurely move-in by dropping and setting up students’ belongings in their rooms ahead of the Thursday, Aug. 27 move-in day.
Returning Students
Move-in Day for returning students is Sunday, August 30. Check in will be located in the Great Hall. Each student will be assigned a check-in time. Check-in times will be in the late morning/early afternoon. Please plan to arrive promptly for your scheduled time.
Check-in
All students are required to go through our check-in process prior to moving any belongings into the residence halls. Here are a few more things to know before you arrive:
- Check-in time assignments will be distributed in late July/early August via IU email.
- There are two hours allotted for each check-in time for students to complete their move. When the two hours are complete, all guests must leave the building.
- Student volunteers will be available to assist with personal belongings (August 27 only).
- Carts will be available for use, but access may be limited. Students are encouraged to bring their own.
