The Immaculata University Department of Safety and Protection can provide vehicular transportation or walking escorts to students, faculty and staff. The circumstances under which transportation/escort services are provided shall be generally limited to:
- Reasons for personal safety, such as those cases when a member of the community is traveling alone on foot from one point to another on the campus at a time when little or no activity exists in the general area.
- A community member has a legitimate and genuine concern for their safety or mobility (as in the case of physical limitations, injury, etc.).
- Requests received between dusk and dawn, although as-needed exceptions will be made.
The safety escort service is not meant to meet an individual’s routine transportation needs or serve as a ride program for inclement weather. As such, please restrict safety escort requests to those that are appropriate so Campus Safety personnel can best serve the overall safety needs of our campus.
Community members should expect responses to escort requests within 15 minutes. However, be aware that officers could be attending to urgent matters, which could cause delays in response times.
Campus Safety officers are authorized to delay or deny transportation and safety escort services to any member of the community in cases where:
- Requests do not meet the circumstances listed above.
- They are otherwise occupied with urgent campus security matters.
- Other means of transportation are available.
The safety of all students, faculty and staff is of paramount importance. If you, at any time, are concerned about your safety, do not hesitate to call Campus Safety at 610-854-2451.
