Delayed Opening and Closure
Academic Year 2023-24
In the event of inclement weather or some other type of emergency, Immaculata University may implement a closure or a delayed opening. Announcements are made though the IU Alert notification system, on the main university website, and on the MyIU portal.
IU Alert sends announcements via text message and email. Students, faculty and staff can register up to two wireless devices (phone or tablet) and two email addresses for notifications. Sign up here for IU Alert.

Regular class schedule resumes based on class periods commencing after the delayed opening times.
Students engaged in nursing clinical courses should follow directions provided by their instructor.
Campus Closure
On days where the campus needs to be closed due to inclement weather or any other emergency, class content will be managed through “virtual learning.” Virtual Learning may consist of synchronous or asynchronous instruction, and/or alternative instructional equivalencies for those classes. The expectations for “virtual learning” days will be shared with students at the beginning of each term from their faculty, with reminders posted in MYIU, Moodle, via email, etc.
