Immaculata Thriving in 2025

Throughout the past academic year, Immaculata University has showcased remarkable growth and achievement across its academic, promotional and campus engagement endeavors. We highlighted a few examples below:

Our Student Body

In fall 2024, Immaculata welcomed our largest class of new traditional undergraduate students in more than a decade, with 275 first-time freshmen and 69 transfer students. Freshman enrollment increased 37% since 2022, while transfer enrollment increased 47% in the same timeframe.  Once fall enrollment numbers are finalized, our 2025 incoming class is expected to be the largest ever!

Immaculata’s Class of 2028 is the most diverse in the history of Immaculata, with 38% of the students coming from historically underrepresented populations. Additionally, 42% of our 2024 freshman class are first-generation students.

Academics

The Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) officially reaffirmed Immaculata University’s accreditation in June 2024. Over the past year, Immaculata expanded its academic offerings with new programs and concentrations including:

The launch of a Master of Music in Music Education (MME) designed for working music educators.

A Bachelor of Science in Business and Fashion degree.

The online Master of Business Administration (MBA) now features specialized concentrations in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, business analytics and human resources.

Immaculata launched a new Neuropsychology Assessment Clinic offering Psy.D. students interested in neuropsychology an opportunity to provide neuropsychological assessments.

Campus Development

Thanks to the generosity of Immaculata alumna Theresa Major Payton ’89 and her husband, Chris Payton, Immaculata University established the Major-Payton School of Business, which will house the University’s undergraduate and graduate business and leadership programs.

The Nazareth Dining Hall renovation was made possible through a generous donation from Mimi Draper Walsh ’63 and her husband, Frank E. Walsh, Jr.

Campus enhancements include the renovation of the theater in Alumnae Hall and the ongoing renovation of Gillet Hall into new campus housing, accommodating Immaculata’s largest incoming class to date.

Noteworthy Firsts

Much excitement surrounded political science and international relations professor Josh Weikert’s notable success on “Jeopardy!, securing five victories and advancing to the Tournament of Champions airing in January 2026.

The women’s varsity flag football team, together with other Atlantic East Conference universities, kicked off its inaugural full season, becoming the first NCAA conference to field women’s varsity flag football teams. The Mighty Macs went to the AEC semifinals.
