4+2 B.A. in Psychology to M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling
Fast-track your path to clinical mental health counseling.
Immaculata’s 4+2 B.A. in Psychology to M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program allows students to accelerate their academic goals. Applicants to the program must have a high school GPA of 3.0 or higher and submit a personal statement of approximately 500 words describing their interest in the program and how they plan to succeed academically, including study habits and preparation for higher education.
Accepted students begin graduate-level coursework during their senior year, completing 12 credits that apply directly toward the master’s degree. Courses such as research and program evaluation, human growth and development, professional orientation and ethical issues, and interpersonal relations introduce students to the expectations of the counseling profession. This accelerated structure allows students to complete the M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in two years after graduation, saving time and cost.
Paired with a strong psychology foundation, the 4+2 pathway provides a focused, efficient transition from undergraduate study to advanced training in clinical mental health counseling.

"Several of my major courses at Immaculata University assisted me in preparing for my current position of being a lead behavioral health counselor at a nonprofit, community-based facility. The program provided me with a sense of discipline, an appreciation for teamwork, an understanding of ethics and strategies to assist in implementing personal self-care. I have found that these skills are an essential piece of the puzzle when working with and supporting clients within the mental health and drug and alcohol world.”
