MyIU Portal Improvements

We are rebuilding the current MyIU portal into a new SharePoint-based platform designed to better serve the campus community. The new portal will provide greater technical stability and availability, improved navigation and accessibility, enhanced cross-functional search capabilities, and a more intuitive and visually appealing user experience. Moving to SharePoint will make it easier for all content owners to manage and update information more effectively, helping ensure that portal content remains accurate, timely, accessible and useful to the entire community.

7/23/2026 UPDATE: SOFT LAUNCH DATE 7/29/26!

The new MyIU will be available on July 29. However, to help users acclimate themselves to the new portal, we are keeping the existing portal live (as the default portal) until October. A link to the new portal will be available from the existing MyIU portal upon logging in.

IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS

• User permissions dictate available content, so all content will not be available for all users. For example, students will not be able to access faculty/staff-oriented content.
• Some users will have permission to edit portal content and pages. Since a primary goal is to enable content owners within departments, teams, etc. to manage and update content, additional editing buttons and links will be available for designated users. Content editor training will be provided to these designated individuals. PLEASE DO NOT EDIT ANY CONTENT, PAGE DESIGNS, ETC. WITHOUT PROPER TRAINING.
• Training videos and documents are available. User training videos and documents will be available from the new MyIU Training Site and will cover topics such as:
  • Introduction to the new portal
  • Using search features
  • Setting up and maintaining a portal site
  • Managing Navigation
  • & More
• On or around October 2, the new MyIU portal will replace the legacy portal. The legacy MyIU portal will no longer be available.
