Successful Credit Transfer
To ensure a smooth transfer of your dual enrollment credits, follow these best practices:
- Keep Your Course Materials
Hold on to your syllabi, assignments, and course descriptions. Some colleges may request them to evaluate course equivalency. - Request an Official Transcript
After completing your course(s), order an official transcript from Immaculata University to send to your future college. - Check with the Receiving Institution Early
Every college or university has its own credit transfer policies. Before enrolling in a course, contact the admissions or registrar’s office at the college you're planning to attend and ask:- Do you accept dual enrollment credits?
- Are there any limits to the number of transferable credits?
- Will this course fulfill general education, elective, or major requirements?
- Focus on General Education Courses
Introductory courses (like English Composition, Psychology, Sociology, Statistics, and Spanish) are often the most transferable because they align with most college general education requirements. - Maintain Strong Grades
Most colleges require a grade of C or higher to consider credits for transfer. Some selective institutions may require a B or better.
