For Counselors and Parents

Dual Enrollment Program Overview

Immaculata University’s Dual Enrollment Program provides high school juniors and seniors with the opportunity to take accredited college-level courses while still in high school. Through this program, students earn both high school and college credit simultaneously, helping them get a head start on their college education, reduce future tuition costs, and experience the rigor of college-level work in a supportive environment.

Dual enrollment courses are taught online, on Immaculata’s campus, in a hybrid format, or at the student’s high school by qualified instructors. Credits earned through the program are recorded on an official Immaculata University transcript and may be transferable to other colleges and universities, depending on the policies of the receiving institution.

This program is designed for academically motivated students who meet the eligibility criteria and are ready to take on the challenge of college coursework. Counselors play a key role in helping students determine course fit and eligibility, and in guiding them through the application and registration process.

How Dual Enrollment Works — 5 Simple Steps

Step 1: Talk to Your School Counselor

  • Discuss your academic goals and readiness for college-level coursework.
  • Confirm your eligibility (generally a 3.0 GPA or higher, junior or senior standing, and strong academic performance).
  • Learn which Immaculata courses are available through your school or online.

Step 2: Choose Your Course(s)

  • Courses are offered in partnership with your high school or directly through Immaculata.
  • Delivery options: online, on-campus, hybrid, or in-person at your high school.
  • All courses are taught by Immaculata professors or approved instructors.
  • Earn both high school and college credits.

Step 3: Apply Online

  • Each partner high school has a unique application link.
  • Use the link provided by your school counselor or request it via email.
  • Not from a partner school? Email us to apply as a homeschool or Diocesan Scholar.

Step 4: Register and Set Up Your IU Account

  • Once your application is processed, you’ll receive a welcome email from Immaculata’s Office of Technology.
  • Follow the steps to activate your MyIU Portal account — where you'll access courses, grades, and unofficial transcripts.

Step 5: Take the Course & Earn College Credit

  • Complete your course and earn Immaculata University credit (must earn a C or higher).
  • After the course, you can request an official transcript to send to other colleges.
  • Unofficial transcripts are always available through your MyIU account.
