Additional Degrees and Programs

Immaculata also offers a master’s degree in educational leadership, which students may pursue during a fifth year of study. Students can complete their education at Immaculata with an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership and Administration.

Students specialize in interest areas and gain real classroom experience during their sophomore and junior years.

Immaculata also offers a master’s degree in educational leadership, which students may pursue during a fifth year of study.

Teaching Certification

Immaculata offers education programs that will help you earn your teacher certification in one of the following areas:

  • PreK-4 certification: Learn about teaching resources and methods of presenting material to prekindergarten through 4th grade classes. Explore the importance of play, relating to parents of young children, and children’s emotional, physical, social, intellectual and creative development.
  • Special Education PK-12 certification: Explore categories of disabilities, legal issues, and methods for collaboration among school personnel, families, students, and community programs. Learn how to develop, implement, and manage individual education programs and how to adapt your instruction to accommodate students with special needs in an inclusive school setting.
  • Secondary or K-12 education: Students interested in teaching biology, business and computers, chemistry, music, English or social studies/history at the secondary level will major in one of these subject areas and take education classes to earn certification.

Faculty members also help students prepare to teach in states other than Pennsylvania, although students are ultimately responsible for ascertaining the requirements of individual states.

Student Teaching

Student teaching is integrated into the standard four-year period, rather than getting added onto the end of the program. Students begin their student teaching in their senior years. Immaculata students are highly touted for their preparation for student-teaching assignments.

Accreditation

All teacher education programs at Immaculata are approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE).

Program Cost

Tuition per credit is $465, and students can transfer in previous college credits and earn credit for equivalent work experience.
