Weather Alert
Tuesday, January 7, 2025
Immaculata University offices are open and are following a normal operating schedule.
Weather Emergency / Delayed Opening
When trying to decide if we should close or remain open due to inclement weather conditions, we do our best to make these decisions in a timely fashion. For day classes we attempt to make the decision by 5:30 a.m. and for evening classes by 2:30 p.m. If the University determines that a closure is not necessary, the University may choose to operate on a modified 2-hour delayed opening schedule.
The University will use the following channels to alert you in the event the institution is closed due to weather, or other emergencies: IU Alert, Social Media, MyIU, emergency alerts on the University website, as well as KYW News Radio and KYW Television (broadcast numbers: Day Classes–#871, Evening Classes–#2871, Graduate Classes–#868), and the University’s main phone number at 610-647-4400 by pressing 8 when prompted.
Virtual Learning
Virtual Learning may consist of synchronous or asynchronous instruction and/or alternative instructional equivalencies for those classes. Faculty will share their expectations for “virtual learning” with students at the beginning of each term, with reminders posted in Moodle, via email, etc.
IU Alert
Immaculata University utilizes IU Alert, a mass notification system that sends emergency notifications and timely alerts to the Immaculata University community. In order to receive these notifications, you must sign up—you can register two wireless devices and two emails addresses. Sign up for IU Alert here.
Note: If you’ve previously signed up for e2Campus alerts, you do not need to sign up again for IU Alert.
