Dear Immaculata Community,
Today’s Alleluia verse proclaims: “Jesus Christ, you are the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead; you have loved us and freed us from our sins by your Blood.” Alleluia, alleluia.
The title “faithful witness” has biblical significance, emphasizing the importance of truthfulness, courage, and commitment, to testifying to the truth of God. Here are some references to “faithful witness.”
- Proverbs 14:5: “A faithful witnessdoes not lie; a false witness breathes out lies.”
- Revelation 3:14: “Jesus Christ, the faithfuland true witness.”
- Acts 1:8: “You will be My witnessesin Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
These are some of the verses that highlight the biblical significance of being a faithful witness, both in word and deed, and the moral integrity required of a witness.
Peace to you!
