Dear Immaculata Community,

“If we didn’t have to struggle, we would never harvest the glory” were the words of Mother Superior in the movie. “Those Sisters, they loved basketball,” said Cathy Rush. “Many of them had played the game, so they knew the game. They were a huge part of our basketball family.”

According to the article in St. Anthony Messenger, “The Sisters’ spirit was infectious. As the Immaculata team won game after game, fans started streaming into their games and even formed a frenzied rooting chorus in sync with the Sisters. Basketball became the center of attention on the campus of this small Catholic college, as much a part of the culture as the crucifixes adorning the classrooms.”
