Duffy’s Cut Team Announces New Discovery

William Watson, Ph.D., IU professor of history, and the Duffy’s Cut team held a news conference to announce the discovery of a second Irish immigrant railroad crew’s mass grave. This grave is connected to the 1832 events in Duffy’s Cut, but it’s eleven miles farther west in Downingtown at the site of the present-day Northwood Cemetery.

Representing the Duffy’s Cut Team at the news conference were:

Bill Watson, Frank Watson, Bob McAllister, Dr. Matt Patterson, Matthew Peace, Bob Frank (IU alum), and Rich Girkins (IU alum).

Phil Dague, mayor of Downingtown, was a special guest.
