The Fashion Merchandising Department at Immaculata University supports the Department of Career Development initiative, which recently opened a free “Career Clothing Closet.” This initiative understands that providing guidance and work clothing for students who cannot afford it or do not know how to style a look for their internships and interviews can help show how clothing fosters confidence and dignity beyond providing clothing. Clothes can send a powerful message that every student deserves a fair chance at success regardless of their financial situation. All the efforts that we are putting into this fashion show in support of the “Career Clothing Closet” will not only highlight the importance of this resource but also celebrate the diversity and ambition of our student body. We will appreciate any support for the cause and our fashion show, where we will ensure we start creating awareness of the importance of work clothes. Fashion is sometimes seen as superficial, but in reality, it is extremely powerful.
