Immaculata Symphony Spring Concert
April 13, 2024 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm
Spectacular sonorities abound in this Spring Concert of symphonic music both old and new. Chris Rogerson’s sparkling work Luminosity, composed in 2010, opens the program in an evocative presentation of textures and timbres. Then Brahms’ Saint Anthony Variations displays the composer’s skill of transforming Haydn’s theme into eight intriguing new passages. The concert ends in a triumphant display of the unconquerable human spirit in Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 5 in D minor.
