Interlibrary Loan

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is a lending service available to our current students, faculty, and staff. This service enables patrons to request books and articles not currently owned by Immaculata University Library.

How it Works

Are There Restrictions on What I Can Request Through ILL?

You may request as many items as you like, but we MAY NOT be able to obtain the following types of materials:

  • E-books
  • Textbooks- especially those published within the last five years
  • Dissertations and theses

Delivery Time

Articles: 2-5 business days

Books: up to 14 business days

Additional Information

For articles: You will receive an email when your material is ready. You have the option to download your article or the option to open your article 5 times. The article will expire after 30 days.

For Books:  You will receive an email when your material arrives at Gabriele Library, and it can be picked up and returned at any time while the library is open at the circulation desk. Due dates are set by the library that lends it to us. If you need additional time, you can request a renewal through your library account. Please do so at least one week before the due date, so that the lending library can decide whether or not to approve the extra time.

If the book is late, you will be charged $1 a day beginning 7 days after the due date. This late fine will include those 7 days.

If you lose an ILL book, the university that owns the material will charge you a replacement fee.

If you have any questions, email interlibrary@immaculata.edu or call the interlibrary loan office at 610-647-4400 ext.3829.
