Frequently Asked Questions
Hundreds of students enroll in IU online courses each year. Although every course is different, students are generally asked to read from a textbook, journal article, or webpage and respond to guided questions. You may be asked to comment on other students’ responses. Research papers are sometimes assigned or you may be a member of a group project. With the exception of quizzes and exams, and assignment deadlines, you may set your own schedule during the day or evening for the completion of assignments. Sometimes, exams must be completed online during a specific time period. Immaculata University also offers a free Online Success seminar that will help you to navigate and be successful in an online environment.
All courses will be available through Immaculata University’s Learning Management System, Moodle. Students may access Moodle through MyIU. Visiting Students will receive login information and directions on accessing MyIU by email and mail. It is important that you login prior to your course starting, this will give you time to troubleshoot any questions you may have.
Students should first check with their home institution to make sure the IU course(s) they are taking will transfer back. Once you have completed the course contact the Immaculata University Registrar’s Office to request an official transcript to send to your home institution.
The cost is $300 per credit.
Winter session courses are not included in comprehensive tuition. Students will be required to pay $300 per credit.
Winter Session courses begin on December 16, 2024 and will conclude on January 10, 2025. All courses will be held online.
Immaculata University awards degrees in May for students who take their last degree requirement in the Winter Session.
Low enrolled courses will typically be cancelled a week before Winter Session begins, but exceptions can be made. The decision to cancel a low enrolled Winter course will be made by the Dean of the College of Undergraduate Studies. Students will be notified via their personal and Immaculata University email addresses if their course has been canceled, and a full refund will be issued to the student.
Winter session students are not permitted to live on campus.
Requests to drop or withdraw from a Winter Session course must be made in writing. Failure to log into a course does not constitute an official withdrawal. Email adultproadvising@immaculata.edu to request a drop or withdrawal. The level of drop or withdrawal and the tuition that is to be refunded are determined by the date the written request is received. Students must request drops by 11:59 p.m. on Dec. 15 to receive a full-refund. All requests to drop/withdrawal received on or after Dec. 16, 2024 will be processed as withdrawals. Students will be responsible for all tuition charges.
