Applying for Graduation

Students planning to graduate should submit an Online Application to Graduate. Students should be within 3 semesters of graduating to apply.

Applications Periods

  • January 2026: August 26, 2025 – December 5, 2025
  • May 2026: August 26, 2025 – April 10, 2026
  • August 2026: August 26, 2025 – July 24, 2026

How to APPLY

  • Logon to MYIU/SSIU
  • Under Student Records select Apply to Graduate

  • Select the Curriculum Term Selection (Select the most recent term in which you have been enrolled in the program for which you are applying to graduate).

  • Verify the curriculum shown is accurate. (NOTE: If you are completing a second degree, you will need to complete a Graduation Application for each degree that you intend to earn).
  • Click the radio button to select Curriculum and Continue to the next screen.

  • Select the applicable Graduation Date from the drop-down menu. Click the radio button next to your response to attend the ceremony. Please note: There is only one commencement ceremony which takes place in May. Students that graduate in either January or August preceding will be invited to attend the May ceremony. If you select no, you will not receive any communication regarding the ceremony. If you are unsure, it is recommended that you check yes. Click Continue.

  • Verify your name for your diploma. Your Student Record Name will be printed on your diploma as displayed.
    For questions regarding the name change process, please contact the Registrar’s Office. The Graduation Application should still be completed even if you have questions regarding your name. Click Continue.

  • Review your Graduation Application summary, click Submit Request.
