Catherine Brown Recognized as PAVA-Recognized Vocologist

Adjunct voice instructor Catherine Brown earned the designation of PAVA-Recognized Vocologist, which recognizes individuals who have established professional engagement, experience and knowledge across all disciplines of vocology. Vocology is the scientific study of the human voice, encompassing its anatomy, physiology, acoustics and disorders.

In May, Brown will teach a two-hour short course for the Voice Study Centre (UK) on “Mindfulness and Voice: Exploring the Intersection through Peer-Reviewed Literature” and she will also do two presentations at the Voice Foundation’s Annual Symposium based on her original research in collaboration with Julia Gerhard, DMA, CCC-SLP and the University of Miami’s Voice Center.
