Music Minor and Certificate
Certificate in Music Performance
The Certificate in Music Performance is an option to undergraduate BM Music Therapy and BM Music Education students. This Certificate is for students who wish to seek additional instruction and performance opportunities within their respective program, as it provides greater focus on advanced musicianship and performance with multiple opportunities for collaboration, leadership, creative thinking, and self-awareness. Comparable to a Minor, a Certificate is noted on student’s transcript, but can be completed in under 18 credits.
Music Minor
When you minor in music, you may choose from either a vocal or instrumental focus.
Classes include music theory, aural skills, music history, and participation in ensembles.
REQUIREMENTS (18 credits):

- MUSC 132 Music Theory II (3 credits)
- MUSC 131 Aural Skills I (1 Credit)
- MUSC 133 Aural Skills II (1 Credit)
MUSIC HISTORY (3 Credits)
Choose one of the following courses:

KEYBOARD (2 credits)
- MUSC 135 Piano Lab I (1 credit)

- MUA 4XX Applied Music Lesson I (1 credit)
- MUA 4XX Applied Music Lesson II (1 credit)
