Business Management, B.S.
Undergraduate Studies

Why do many students choose to major in business management? It is one of the most versatile majors, which can unlock doors to myriad professions you may not have even considered. Immaculata’s Bachelor of Science in business management provides you with working knowledge of global markets, foreign cultures and business organizations, and the analytical skills to make economic and operating decisions.

With so many career options available to business management graduates who have developed a strong foundation in the liberal arts, you will be prepared to pursue management and leadership roles locally, nationally, and globally or continue your education in an MBA or other graduate programs. Through an agreement with DeSales University, you can start your graduate studies during your senior year at IU and finish your M.B.A. at DeSales with only one additional year of study or at your own pace.

About the Business, Fashion and Leadership Department

Immaculata University’s Business, Fashion and Leadership Department, where the business management major resides, develops ethical, service-oriented business leaders for the global community. This ethical foundation is particularly important in preparation for a career in business.

Opportunities

Within Chester County lies the Great Valley Corporate Center and world-renowned businesses and organizations such as QVC, Vanguard, Longwood Gardens and AmerisourceBergen, a Fortune 500 company. Students can gain practical experience collaborating in real-world problem-solving situations during their internships right in Immaculata’s backyard or Center City Philadelphia. With smaller class sizes, students also regularly give class presentations and work on group projects: all valuable skills for the business world.

In addition, students enjoy entrepreneurial and networking opportunities through Enactus and can participate in the Business Club, which publishes a semi-annual newsletter and tours companies to learn about business operations. Students also gain valuable knowledge from successful business professionals who serve as guest presenters.

Where Can I Work?

Every industry needs business leaders! Some possible fields that graduates can pursue include: operations analyst, planning/project manager, customer service manager, meeting and convention planner, fundraiser, sales representative, administrative services manager, or entrepreneur, to name a few.

In addition, a business management degree prepares you for graduate work in a number of fields or for further training as a certified financial planner (CFP), a chartered financial consultant (ChFC), or a chartered financial analyst (CFA). Many of our students pursue dual majors or minors in finance, accounting, marketing or economics to add depth to their career opportunities.
