BIOGRAPHY:
Virginia is an Assistant Professor in the Arts Languages & Letters department. She is Director of the Writing Program, Faculty Advisor for Sigma Tau Delta National Honor English Society, and Faculty Advisor for the university literary magazine, Pilgrimages. She also established the Unity Book Club which is open to all students, staff and faculty and has a focus on DEI-themed books. Virginia has an extensive background working professionally in the writing, communications, and media fields including: print and digital journalism, corporate communications, digital marketing and social media management, website design and content writing, nonprofit development, grant writing, and digital fundraising. She enjoys bringing her firsthand work experience to the classroom and supporting students on their academic journeys.

As a staff writer, contributor, feature writer, and photographer, her work as a journalist in the Philadelphia region spans 15 years. Virginia has published more than 800 original articles, along with her photographs, in both print and digital media outlets. Her work covers a wide range of topics, from community news, spotlight features, and human interest stories. Her work is regularly featured in Hidden City Philadelphia, The Daily Local News, The Mercury, Mainline Media News, The Reading Eagle, Delaware County Times, The Phoenix Reporter & Item, The Trentonian, The Times Herald and more. She has won three Keystone Press Awards for her work.
