BIOGRAPHY:

Sister Elizabeth Monica Acri, IHM, earned her Psy.D. in clinical psychology from Immaculata University in 2010. Previously she served as an elementary school teacher for 15 years in North and South America. She also worked as an elementary school principal for 17 years in the Philadelphia area. Sister Monica is a licensed psychologist in the state of Pennsylvania. She completed her internship and two-year post-doctoral residency at The Reading Hospital and Medical Center’s Dual Diagnosis Treatment Program for patients with concurrent mental illness and addictions.

Sister joined the Immaculata faculty in 2012 and teaches in the graduate Psy.D. Program. She currently serves as the PsyD Practicum Coordinator, Administrator for Continuing Education Programs, and she formats all final dissertation drafts before binding. She is also a speaker for the Consortium Assessment Modules. Sister is a consultant for the Marriage Tribunals of the Diocese of Metuchen and Philadelphia and has a private practice.

Sister Monica has given presentations on clinical hypnosis, addiction and dual diagnosis, psychopathology and the DSM-5, and psychological assessment.
