BIOGRAPHY:

Maria Toth began her career in nursing as a staff nurse in several hospital emergency departments. She has served as a nurse manager of an intensive care unit, a staff development educator, and a nursing supervisor at a hospital. As director of nursing services at Temple University Hospital, she was accountable for the administration of high-level nursing care, including oncology, medical/surgical, emergency department, ICU/CCU, neuroscience and trauma units. As a nurse practitioner, she co-founded a school-based health clinic for the medically underserved community of South Philadelphia.

Toth began her academic career as the director of the School of Nursing for Methodist Hospital. During her teaching career, she has served as an adjunct faculty member at numerous universities including Temple University Hospital, Frankford Hospital School of Nursing, and Drexel University. From 2008-2015, Toth was the director of the associate degree nursing program at Montgomery County Community College and most recently, she served as the dean of professional studies for allied health and nursing at Bucks County Community College. She has taught classes in various areas of nursing, including nursing research, holistic nursing, cultural/anthropological nursing and group dynamics.
