Exercise Science and Nutrition Minors
Movement Science
This minor will give you a foundation in kinesiology and exercise and sport physiology. You can tailor the program to your interests by choosing from courses in biomechanics, exercise assessment and program management, preventing and caring for athletic injuries, sport performance coaching, social issues in sports, and field experience.
Pre-Health Professions
The coursework required for this minor will prepare you for further studies in a variety of health professions, including physical therapy, occupational therapy, and athletic training. You will learn the basics of kinesiology, exercise and sport physiology, exercise assessment and programming, biomechanics, and methods for preventing and caring for athletic injuries.
Nutrition
The Nutrition minor (19 credits) is designed to provide students with applicable and relevant nutrition information and practices to use in daily life. The Nutrition minor will introduce students to the basic components of nutrition as a science and provide numerous topics of interest for health and wellbeing. These topics include food fundamentals, lifecycle nutrition, introduction to human nutrition, nutrition and culture, sports nutrition, current topics in nutrition, and plant powered nutrition.
