BIOGRAPHY:

Dr. Joseph A. Sorgini is an Assistant Professor of Criminology at Immaculata University. Dr. Sorgini routinely teaches courses on criminology, juvenile delinquency, homeland security and a specialty course examining serial killers. Dr. Sorgini’s research interests lie in cybercrime, drones in law enforcement, juvenile delinquency, mental health issues in the criminal justice system and mass shootings. Dr. Sorgini obtained his Master of Science in Criminal Justice degree from Saint Joseph’s University and a Doctorate in Public Administration from West Chester University.

In his professional career, before becoming an assistant professor of Criminology, Dr. Sorgini created online courses for the delivery of a certificate program in Homeland Security at Montgomery County Community College, taught as an adjunct at a number of universities in the Philadelphia area and served one-term as the elected Constable for Towamencin Township in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. At Immaculata, Dr. Sorgini has created numerous courses for online delivery, created and is directing the Master of Science in Criminal Justice program, and advises students within the Criminology undergraduate program.
