BIOGRAPHY:

Dr. David Emil Martinson, originally from Norway, earned his Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision (CACREP) from the University of South Carolina. He has over 30 years of clinical experience as a counselor working with families, adolescents, and groups in a variety of settings, including psychiatric institutions, trauma and addiction clinics, therapeutic foster care, and private practice.

He holds membership with the American Counseling Association (ACA), the Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (ACES), the North Atlantic Region Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (NARACES), and the National Association of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors (NAADAC). He has presented at counseling conferences in the USA, Norway, Iceland, and Canada.

Dr. Martinson serves as the Field Site Coordinator for the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program and the Chapter Faculty Advisor for the Beta Mu Chapter of the Chi Sigma Iota Honors Society.
