The popular Disney movie “Moana” introduced many people to the mighty demigod Maui, who guides Moana in her quest to become a master way-finder. In Dan Welcher’s work Haleakala, we hear the legend of Maui, how he raised the sky, pulled the islands of Hawaii up from the ocean, and also snared the sun to help it move slower across the sky.

The program will also include a medley of some favorite Disney songs, featuring Bells of Notre Dame, A Whole New World, Under The Sea, Colors of the Wind, Be Our Guest, Beauty and the Beast, and Circle of Life. After the performance, children are invited to meet the musicians and to see and hear the instruments up close.

Tickets are available at the door and online at Eventbrite.
