Following the programs first Conference Championship in the 2019 edition of the Atlantic East Tournament, the Immaculata women’s tennis team returned to the Championship match in 2021 looking to defend its Atlantic East Championship title. Immaculata jumped out to an early lead with a sweep of the doubles action before taking first and fifth singles to defeat Marywood by a final of 5-0 and repeat as Atlantic East Champions for the second time in as many tries.

This victory also marks the second year in a row in which Immaculata has gone unbeaten through Atlantic East Regular Season and Tournament play as the Macs end the year with an impressive 6-1 record with a mark of 3-0 in Atlantic East play.

In doubles action, Immaculata jumped out to an early lead as Caleigh Masterman and Elizabeth Lipscomb took first doubles by an 8-2 final while Annamarie Degnan and Morgan Jacob claimed second doubles by an 8-4 final. Jessica Dougherty and Kelly O’Brien played in the third doubles spot for Immaculata winning their match by an 8-3 final to give Immaculata an early 3-0 lead in the match.

In first singles, Masterman took her match in convincing fashion winning 6-0, 6-0 to give the Mighty Macs a commanding 4-0 lead in the match. Immaculata closed out the match with a fifth singles victory by Dougherty as she held on for a 6-3, 6-2 victory to lift Immaculata to the 5-0 match win and its second Atlantic East Championship in as many tries.

Masterman was also named Championship MVP for the second time in her career after helping Immaculata register a pair of points for Immaculata en route to the Atlantic East Championship after taking first doubles and first singles over the Pacers.
