WORLD RENOWNED DESIGNER AND CEO OF PEACE LOVE WORLD ALINA VILLASANTE TO VISIT IMMACULATA UNIVERSITY

On October 17, Alina Villasante, the founder, designer, and CEO of the Peace Love World clothing line, will visit Immaculata University to talk to students about her experiences. Her talk is free and open to the public from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in Loyola Hall on the campus of Immaculata.

Villasante, born in Havana, Cuba started her brand in 2009. She is focused on bringing happiness to all people, and her brand reflects the importance she puts on positivity and optimism. Villasante also feels responsible to give back to the world, and is passionate about spreading awareness for Autism, breast cancer, and multiple sclerosis. She works closely with Zanmi Beni, a shelter in Haiti dedicated to finding homes for disabled and abandoned children. The mission of her brand is to “spread Peace, Love, and Happiness wherever and whenever we can.”

Peace Love World is a globally recognized brand, which boasts a strong online presence, operates seven stores in South Florida, and is sold in more than 2,000 boutiques and in major retail chains including Nordstrom and Neiman Marcus. The brand holds a coveted sales spot on QVC, and is followed by major celebrities like Oprah Winfrey, Jennifer Lopez, and the Kardashians. Peace Love World also collaborates with Coca-Cola, the Dallas Cowboys, and the Miami Heat.

Elizabeth Faunce, Ph.D., chair of the Business, Fashion, and Leadership Department at Immaculata comments, “This is a wonderful opportunity for aspiring entrepreneurs and business leaders to get firsthand knowledge about the work from an expert in the fashion industry. Student will be able to network with a highly successful business leader, and learn what it takes to be successful in today’s market.”

Immaculata is a Catholic, coeducational institution of higher learning. Established by the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (IHM), Immaculata has been providing a quality education to students since 1920. The University offers academic programs at the associate, baccalaureate, master’s, and doctoral levels. Additionally, Immaculata offers 23 NCAA Division III varsity sports to student-athletes.
