What do Mission and Ministry Mean?

Dear Immaculata Community,

Pope Francis has brought new energy and depth to the Roman Catholic understanding, practice, and spirituality of mission.  His two major documents – the Joy of the Gospel (Evangelii Gaudium) in 2013, and On Care for Our Common Home (Laudato Si) in 2015, provide a pastoral and practical plan for the Church, called to be a “community of missionary disciples.” (EG 24).
