What do Mission and Ministry Mean?
Dear Immaculata Community,
“Mission is proclaiming, serving, and witnessing to God’s reign of love,
salvation, and justice. Mission is a single but complex reality. There are six
components of the single but complex reality of mission: Witness and proclamation;
Liturgy, prayer, and contemplation; justice, peace, and the integrity of creation;
interreligious and secular dialogue; inculturation; and reconciliation.”
“Pope Francis spoke of mission in this way. “When we live out of a spirituality
of drawing nearer to others and seeking their welfare, our hearts are opened wide to
the Lord’s greatest and most beautiful gifts. Whenever we encounter another person
in love, we learn something new about God. – Evangelium Gaudium.” We need to
develop a spirituality of humility and openness so we can do mission with an attitude
of humble listening.”

Peace to you!
