What do Mission and Ministry Mean?

Dear Immaculata Community,

“The purpose of the church is to prolong and continue this mission of Jesus. God’s mission is embracing people of different religions and cultural backgrounds and people are changed, made something new in this process.  While we certainly call participants into the mission of God, it remains a mystery ultimately in God’s hands.

Jesus’ witness to God’s inclusive love and mercy flows over all boundaries. Jesus ate with sinners and tax collectors. Jesus’ total commitment to God’s mission  led to his death and resurrection: and Jesus’ love and mission reached beyond the Jewish people.”
