What do Mission and Ministry Mean?

Dear Immaculata Community,

“Mission approaches the world and culture in a positive way. Mission includes
both proclaiming and learning, giving, and receiving.  The papacy of Pope Francis offers
an inspiring and challenging call to the entire Church to be a community of missionary
disciples.  As we are loved by God, so we are to flow with God’s loving action in the
world.  In other words, “there is a mission because God loves people.”  Pope Francis
describes the motivation for mission as the natural desire to share the good news that
one has experienced. Mission is primarily about who God is and what God is doing
with humanity and all creation.”
