What do Mission and Ministry Mean?

Dear Immaculata Community,

“The Church exists not for itself but because of and for the sake of God’s mission.
Another way of saying this: the Church doesn’t have a mission, but the mission 
has a Church! So, the mission of the Church is to serve the mission of God.
Reflecting the nature and mission of God, the Church is to do mission in the spirit
of service, not imposition. Since humanity and all creation are graced by God’s love,
the Church is to cooperate with God’s mission to bring salvation and reconciliation.”
