Dissertation Defense Has Special Guest

The Education Division had a very special dissertation defense on Nov. 14.

Dr. Shawanna James-Coles successfully defended her dissertation, “Women of Color Administrators’ Perceptions of Belonging as it Relates to Retention in Suburban School Districts.” Her dissertation committee included two Immaculata alumni, Dr. D’Ana Waters, Assistant Superintendent of North Penn School District and Dr. Andre McLaurin, Director of Educational Programming for the Hatboro-Horsham School District. Dr. Melissa Reed served as the dissertation chair.

Dr. Khalid Mumin, Secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Education, was a special guest at the event.
