Creative Writing Contest for Undergraduate Students
The Gunard Berry Carlson Memorial Foundation and IU are co-sponsoring a creative writing contest to acknowledge excellence in creative and imaginative writing skills. Tuition scholarships will be awarded to each of the five outstanding entries. First place receives $1,000; second place $800 and third through fifth place winners earn $600 each. Categories for writing include short story (500 to 3,000 words), poetry (minimum of four original poems), essay (500 to 3,000 words), and term paper.
Writers may submit two manuscripts in each of two categories (a total of four manuscripts). The editors of Pilgrimages reserve the right to publish any entry in Immaculata’s literary magazine. Previously published manuscripts are not eligible. Please email submissions to Dr. Virginia Lindak by Monday, April 15.
