Alumnus Speaks on Preparedness & Resilience

Battalion Chief Robert Kennedy ’15 of the Philadelphia Fire Department spoke on campus on April 10 as part of the Preparedness & Resilience Series. Kennedy and retired Deputy Chief Vincent Mulray spoke about the lessons learned from the 2018 Colorado Street house fire, which killed the occupant and caused the Line of Duty Death of Lt. Matthew LeTourneau.

Kennedy and retired Deputy Chief Vincent Mulray were the lead investigators and authors of the PFD’s official report. The program described the many challenges that firefighters faced, examined how the Incident Command System both helped and hindered the fire & rescue operations, and included a questions and answers session.

Chief Kennedy is a is a 2015 graduate of Immaculata’s emergency planning and management program.
