Immaculata News

During this workshop, participants will review and expand knowledge of theoretical perspectives on intersectionality, oppression, and liberation applied to institutionalized older adults receiving music therapy. Participants will then explore personal biases and clinical relationships with institutionalized older adults. Although intersections of age and ability will intentionally direct discourse, ethnicity, gender/sexual orientation, and socioeconomic status, among other salient identities, are sure to influence this process. Perspectives of institutionalized older adults receiving music therapy and their family members crucially inform CMTE conceptualization, development, and implementation.
