This 3-hour continuing education course explores the role of a music therapist within the school setting. Students will acquire an overview of the theory and literature from a community music therapy perspective. This course aims to strengthen facilitation skills in autistic support classrooms, special needs classrooms and emotional support classrooms with a focus on program development performance production development, clinical interventions, and the use of augmentative and alternative communication devices. Participants will be invited to engage in experiential learning.
