Immaculata University’s Music Department is committed to developing in its students an understanding and appreciation of the power and place of music in the world by maintaining music as a primary discipline among the liberal arts; preparing students to use the power of music to teach, to heal, to worship, and to enrich the lives of all people; and promoting the art of music as a spiritual and cultural force in society.
The University is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM); all our music therapy degree programs are approved by the American Music Therapy Association (AMTA); and our music education degree program is in compliance with the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE). In 2012, we achieved All-Steinway School status with the purchase of several Steinway concert grand pianos, as well as numerous Steinway-made practice pianos.
The music faculty are committed to providing students with the opportunity to achieve their highest level of artistic performance, while establishing a strong foundational knowledge in the fundamentals of music. Our graduates leave Immaculata prepared to begin careers or graduate studies in music education and music therapy, as well as other various specialties within the field of music.
