A minor in Francophone cultures pairs the study of the language with the study of French-
speaking people around the world. You will become proficient in conversational French,
including correct pronunciation, grammar, and composition. You will explore the similarities and
differences among Francophone cultures as compared with American culture. You will study
major Francophone authors and the social and political issues reflected in their work.
French for the Fashion Industry Minor
This minor will equip you with the specialized French language skills you will need for the
fashion industry. You may study abroad in France to earn credits toward this minor and to gain
immersive experience in the language and culture. Becoming proficient in French will allow you
to participate in the business transactions of the French-speaking fashion world.
